I’m on maternity leave….. :( {Indianapolis Birth Photographer}

I am so thankful to all of the families who have allowed me to capture the births of their children. Birth photography is such a passion of mine and it makes me sad to have to leave it for some time. On March 18th I gave birth to my 4th child! Because of the unpredictable nature of birth and long hours away from home I will be unable to photograph births again until my children are a little older. I still continue my regular photography business and you can find my site here. Thank you again to all the wonderful families who allowed me to witness such an extraordinary event! You will all hold a special place in my heart.

For photographers interested in getting started with birth photography, I have written a Birth Photography Guide which can be found here.

And because no post feels right without a photo…here are a few photos of baby #4, Liam Ryder:

The birth of Lincoln {Indianapolis Birth Photographer}

Little Lincoln decided his arrival should come during a snowstorm. I was a little afraid I wouldn’t make it all the way to Danville in time but since he was being so stubborn and not wanting to come out I ended up having more than enough time to get there. I took maternity photos for Mindi just a few weeks before you can find here.  This birth was definitely an emotional rollercoaster for momma as she wasn’t progressing and they began talking of a c-section. They waited for the arrival of the doctor and checked her again once he arrived only to discover it was time to push! Welcome to the world Lincoln!

The birth of Aidan {Indianapolis Birth Photographer}

Photographing this birth was extra special to me because I have known Sarah and Todd since junior high! Back in our days at Fulton Junior High I never would have imagined I would be witnessing the birth of their baby boy. Congratulations to both of you and thank you for allowing me to take part in capturing your miracle! :)

The birth of Treysen {Indianapolis birth photographer}

Photographing this birth was more important than any other birth I photographed so far….dad is in boot camp and wasn’t able to be there. I wanted to be sure to capture all the special moments that he would be missing and make him feel as if he were still there. Congratulations to both of you on the birth of your firstborn son! Daddy will be home soon to make up for all the lost time!
